Story behind the song
I wrote this song back in 2000, James William Hobbs sang with me in 2001..I guess it would make more of a Christmas song...but it sure makes a good Christian Country...the music is mine, but James produced us. He almost backed out after his voice pitched so low..me being ignorant back at that time, didn't realize I needed to bring the song up a notch or two so he wouldn't bottom out so badly. We never got around to redoing it.
Lyrics
Born in low estate, Those who beheld Him, Knew that He was worth the wait; How His face did shine, With the light of love, Sent down from His Father above. Little did they know, He would be the ultimate sacrifice He was the Christ-Child. His name was Jesus Christ. When He was thirty-three, He did His Father's work, Taught the crowds in Galilee. Many He did heal, Through this they knew, That all of His Power was real. But little did they know, He would be the ultimate sacrifice; He was a light to this world; His Name was Jesus Christ (turnaround) On the day He died, They laughed and scorned Him, Stood by while His Mother cried. But before they were through, He looked to Heaven. Said "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." Little did they know, He was the ultimate sacrifice; He was our Savior; His Name was Jesus Christ. (Instrumental Break) Little did they know, He was the ultimate sacrifice.. He was our Savior, His Name was Jesus Christ!
