Inspired by life's little moments, I'm just a Maine mom reaching out through words and music. My passion is songwriting and my goal is to 'strike a chord' with the write collaborators and/or artists who will want to bring my songs to the forefront. This is a new (and yet lifelong) experience for me... it's taken me a few years to search for someone to collaborate with, and the perfect fit was right in my backyard. I am forever thankful - to my friend and choir director Doug who believed in my music and worked with me to bring the perfect melody to "Joseph..." and to my family for not thinking I'm totally insane for following a dream I've had since my teenage years... and to my Lord for continuously teaching me how to grow.

Story behind the song
Originally submitted as an entry in the American Idol Songwriter Contest, this song is my personal thank you to those who have always believed in my music. It's a song of inner strength found with the love of family and friends... for graduates, those coming to important decisions, and to celebrate every challenge and accomplishment, great and small.
Lyrics
So this is where the road leads, this is what I dreamed I’ve been waiting for a turning tide, my arms stretched to the wind Now the tide carries me And you were the one who restored me when I crumbled Yours was the strength that instilled in me To be ready for what may come my way, Be ready for each challenge and each chance I’ll take It takes love and it takes letting go What you believe and what you know It was everything you taught me on the way So I’m ready for today Dreams die without a spark, and doubt can hold you down But you believed enough for both of us, that my time would come And your faith stood its ground You were the one I shared every hope and fear with And yours was the heart that always knew I’d be ready for what may come my way Ready for each challenge and each chance I’ll take It takes love and it takes letting go What you believe and what you know It was everything you taught me on the way So I’m ready for today No, I didn’t choose the easy road But I know wherever this road goes My greatest blessings wait for me back home, and I know That I’m ready for what may come my way I’m ready for each challenge and each chance I’ll take It takes love and it takes letting go What you believe and what you know It was everything you taught me on the way So I’m ready for today, I’m ready I’m ready for today I’m ready for today 2007 © Words and music by Janine Talbot
