Story behind the song
The first song from Francien van Tuinen's album 'Despina's Eye'. It ends very nice with an open chord. I play this song also with the school band of the Dr. Nassau College in Assen, Drenthe (Soulmade): that performance is sung by Sylvia Venema with Steven Sluiter on bass, Joost Wesseling on drums and me on piano. On this performance I overdubbed the piano, bass guitar, drums and vocals.
Lyrics
This tale’s about a man with no peace of mind So he went overseas and left all behind He traveled miles, he chased the endless skies As he moved along he learned how the world can be ruled by one Fortune and fame he gained but it didn’t fill his mind And now that he’s drifting he’s in motion not in harmony Now he is searching a place that lives op to his memory But will he find his home
