Grandmas used her Bible as the steppin' stones of life. The chapters within it covers represent a stone. They taught us the values we hold dear today.

Story behind the song
The stepping stones to Grandmas cabin were many colors. She would tell stories of when they where put in place by Grandpa. It wasn't until I was grown that I came to see she used those stories to teach the values and morals of live 'nd family. Often she quoted chapters and verse from the bible when talking about the stone walkway to her house she loved so dearly. To see those traits in my wife make those memories blessed.

Grandmas Steppin' Stones © 2007 Teddie Cochran v.1 Grandmas steppin' stones Lookin' back I can see The walk to her cabin Lined with maple trees v.2 Grandma on the front porch Bible in her hand As I walk the steppin' stones Of this promise land Lift: Tender is the spring She watches over me My life in her hand I feel her sow the seeds Chorus As I walked down the path Of Grandmas steppin' stones The good things in life Come rushing home I look at my wife 'nd I'm thankful that I see My Grandmas steppin' stones Beneath our feet v.3 The virtues she taught me With stones Grandpa lay Are the chapters from her bible The heart my family's made Lift: Gentle In the wind I feel her guiding me My wife takes my hand I feel her sow the seeds Repeat chorus: Refrain: I look at my family I'm thankful that I see Grandmas steppin' stones
