For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Lyrics
Heartache On The Rocks © 2004, Alan D. David, BMI All Rights Reserved (v1) Your luggage by the doorway You said it wasn’t me No cause or explanation You just needed to be free (v2) Every evening it’s the same As I walk down to the ocean Climb up on a boulder Sorting through my emotions (Chorus) Heartache on the rocks And I don’t know what to do Heartache on the rocks Always wondering about you I stare across the water Till the evening’s moist with dew Heartache on the rocks And I don’t know what to do (v3) Denying you won’t come back But yet I know it’s true I know that moving on is best But it’s the hardest thing to do (v4) Till I find a way to break These chains and pick the locks Guess you’ll find me every night Going crazy on those rocks Repeat Chorus
