This song is a deceit, hence the title. I don't want to say too much more in order not to spoil the ending. Suffice it to say it is not what it seems but you must wait until the end to see why...

Light acoustic rock folk
I play guitar and sing against backings that I have created using various software tools. I am therefore a home recorder primarily concerned with minting decent recordings of my own songs rather than a performer.

Story behind the song
I originally wrote this song as a straight "luurve" song complete with smooshy synth's and gentle acoustics. Once finished however I decided that I had created a piece of "lift music" and sought to do something about it. So with a few tweaks to the lyrics it reveals itself in the last lines only to be not what you expected. Anyway 'nuff said, you must listen and wait patiently for the ending.
Lyrics
I’m gonna say this my way So you know it’s true As we stumble on life’s highway You’re gonna see us through I’m gonna feel this always Even when we’re blue There will always be a byway I can find with you You’re gonna be there always You’re gonna take good care Through the maze of bad ways You’re gonna get us there What can I say of this deed That won’t sound insincere Well simply that when you lead The whole world seems so clear My wife is gonna cry now Cos what I say is true It doesn’t matter what we did vow She can’t live up to you But there’s gonna be a day when Our journey is all through A day of reckoning for all men When I can speak for you What will I say about you That won’t sound insincere Well simply that I loved you And always kept you near Oh yes my lovely Sat-Nav I fear the end is here
