After listening to this original, you might be tempted to call me a 'commitment phobe.' It's probably alright to give into that temptation.

Story behind the song
I was suffering a particularly bad attack of both restless feet and a restless heart. Instead of packing up for yet another move, I wrote this song.
Lyrics
Woke up in a smokey haze Tangled sheets, the floor's a maze Of scattered clothes and empty cans I did it all again Last night slipped my mind I count my blessings 'cause I find I don't want the details of my life Chorus 'Cause I wake every day with no money to run but no reason to stay And I know, I know what I said And I swear I meant it when I did My life's a swinging door Of characters, and I'm not sure friend or foe, my enemies, they hold me close at night Morning comes again I find They've rocked me sweet and robbed me blind One more story for the book I tell with hesitance Chorus 'Cause I wake every day with no money to run but no reason to stay And I know, I know what I said And I think I meant it when I did Bridge I'm so glad I got away We both knew I'd never stay I just beat you to the door C'mon, we both knew the score I'm a hard woman to love And when push came down to shove At the end of every day I'm so glad I got away (repeat) I can't stand to be alone Click my heels to get back home where I left you standing there On that August day If I can run fast enough and maybe with a little luck I can leave you and that day behind Chorus 'Cause I wake every day with no money to run but no reason to stay And I know, I know what I said But I can't tell you why I did anymore
