The metaphor of a street or highway or road is common in many fields of music. It just fits so well .... why not keep using it?

After spending a wasted youth performing in bands and as a solo artist, I'm currently only interested in songwriting and recording. OK, if you get me a little tipsy, or there's some money waved before my eyes, maybe my iron resolve will waver ... I'm only human, y'know?

Story behind the song
I started with a riff on a Rhodes piano -- so my working title was "Dangerous Rhodes." From there, I decided to keep the dangerous concept and work it into a road song. It just kinda came out like this. Even though I had it pretty well finished, Estelle helped me flesh it out a little, so I give her credit for lyrics.
Lyrics
Dangerous Road C 2005 by Estelle Toby Goldstein and Wade B. Ward Treacherous streets, watch out for pot holes Traffic won't be stopped or slowed I'm racing fast to forget my past Down a Dangerous Road Bridge out ahead, looks like a wash-out Emotions must have overflowed My love affair has vanished in thin air Love's a Dangerous Road Wrong way-The long way Didn't get to reap what I had sowed Everything's gone, time to move on Run away before it explodes Slipping away, back roads and detours Traveling in a secretive mode The love we had just went from good to bad Love's a Dangerous Road Danger arranger, What I saw I couldn't decode Get out of town, live it all down Leave before I start to corrode Find me a place where I can hole up Hiding in my humble abode Just hide away until another day Love's a Dangerous Road
