Songs is based on the most pertinent portion of President Bush's speech to Congress a few days after the 9-11 attacks in New York and Washington D.c.

Both prayed to the Lord for victory. But God responded to David’s call And honored not that other prayer at all. God is not neutral. You set my foot on my enemies’ necks, And you bring to nothing those that hate me. They cried out ... but there was no one to help them. They cried to you, Lord, but you did not answer them.
