Story behind the song
This song came out of SSG Year 3 Wk 24 segment on Earth,Air,Water and
Fire.Being the parent of a burn survivor,my daughter survived severe burns from a house fire,
I knew Fire would be a hard subject for me.
I never thought I would write about my own
Post Traumatic Shock.

Lyrics
Some fires burn with anger
They hurt the ones we love
Some fires burn in endless praise
Of those sent back above
Some fires scar the body
And some they burn the soul
Some fires take our children away
Before they get to reach their goals
And if I take the time to think about it
There are scars the naked eye might never see
Every time I hear a helicopter
Overhead
There’s that fire
That still burns a part of me
Some fires burn with malice
Intent on bringing pain
A fire burned the Great Winged Bird
Just to see it rise again
Some fires cause such trauma
It tests the surgeons skills
Survivors of them fires fight
To go and prove the human will
And if I take the time to think about it
There are scars the naked eye might never see
Every time I hear a helicopter
Overhead
There’s that fire
That still burns a part of me
Some fires burn with anger
They hurt the ones we love
Some fires burn in endless praise
Of those sent back above
Some fires they burn my soul…
