A nice little track to describe what I'm all about. Being Heard.

J-Class, aka Donnie Darko... Can You Hear Him Now?
J-Class is an aspiring hip-hop artist out of Philly with a style that's pretty much all his own. Instead of falling into the normal realms of 'commercial' or 'underground', J-Class tends to rap about whatever he's feeling at the time. Thus, making him quite the versatile artist when it comes to terms of raw potential. The rapper himself sums up his style the best: "I spit from the heart. If I don't feel it, ya'll won't hear it." Originally from Indiana, J-Class has accepted Philadelphia as his Home and this is constantly expressed in his flow and lingo. With an entirely different background and upbringing than the majority of the artists in the hip-hop/rap industry, J-Class is truly something special and unique. Simply put, you never know what you might hear out of his mouth.

Story behind the song
Basically, I was listenin' to beats like I always do. I heard this one (My Last Breath by Rock It Productions) and the song just flowed from the moment I played it. Hell, half of the lyrics on this joint were from the playing around freestyle I did to the beat while I was listenin' to it. Just spilt from the heart, nahmean? The only thing that annoys me is there's this popping sound that snuck in there somewhere. I tried to get it out but... meh. Couldn't. Ah well...
Lyrics
Can You Hear Me Now? by J-Class I. It's been a long time comin' and things is 'bout to change Class 'bout to flip the game and rearrange Everything you thought was crucial is now obsolete Everything you bought until now was incomplete You can, keep your streets, that don't appeal to me You can thug it all you want, but you ain't real to me I was, born and raised in suburbia's ways The worst thing I had to deal with was personal rage Hidin' emotions, keep 'em where they can't be reached An enigma, young Class personified unique Created my own speech to speak, I'm that deep The one bullies wouldn't even mess with, I'm that creep The Kidd wasn't playin' around nor was I focused Teachers couldn't get me to work, thought I was hopeless It took a musical premonition to get me livin' I became driven, music was my life's ambition Never said a word about it, just started to write Had officially become the strong, silent type To make it in this industry, that was my vow Ya'll might not have heard me then, but can you hear me now? Hook: (2x) I Don't Give A Damn If You See Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Feel Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Flee Me Might Not Have Heard Me Then... But Can You Hear Me Now? II. Steady tryin' to make it for years, sheddin' tears Keep my lyrics to myself and not expressin' my fears That's the reason why I'm still in the same spot Dreamin' 'bout, takin' the steps to make it, to the top And I ain't gon' stop 'til I reach my goals Matter fact, I ain't stoppin' if my body corrodes Even death won't keep me from reachin' the next level That's the beauty of my music, it lives on forever Now, what you think you know about Jason? Erase it. Cuz we ain't even had a conversation You don't know shit about me You're too busy tryin' to find another reason to doubt me This world here? Nothin' but joy and pain These words here? Just a boy and his brain My philosophy? Kick ass and take names And never lose sight of ya' dreams or that's game... Hook: (2x) I Don't Give A Damn If You See Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Feel Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Flee Me Might Not Have Heard Me Then... But Can You Hear Me Now? III. I just wanna' be heard, you can keep your deals My love's manipulatin' words, not the girls that squeal When you gettin' paid, you know how good that feels? I get that just from touchin' a mic, and that's real We can go back and forth about what my life's worth But I'd rather spend the days of my life through verse Feel free to hate me, I done been through worse Like watchin' my father die, damn near since birth I was a good kid, all I did was write rhymes Kept my mouth shut, wasn't allowed to speak my mind Always stayed in my place, never really crossed the line Get off track? Then I caught a belt across the behind Now it's my time, not to shine in the lime But to let the world know what I've been keepin' inside If you like it, that's what's up. You don't? That's fine. Just let me ask you this here question one last time... Hook: (2x) I Don't Give A Damn If You See Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Feel Me I Don't Give A Damn If You Flee Me Might Not Have Heard Me Then... But Can You Hear Me Now?
