Greetings All, Welcome to The Dawg Pound, I'm Bob Johnson, saxophonist for the cyber group known as "The Funkdawgs". Over the last 6 years we've put out 3 , produced 5 educational playalong projects for Music Minus One (, , , , ), appeared on 3 CD's in and more recently won a contest at as the best online virtual band. However, in addition to our regular lineup we have had the pleasure of collaborating with many other talented musicians. That's what The Dawg Pound is all about, a place to showcase these other cats that run with the Dawgs. Among others, The Funkdawgs have collaborated with:

Story behind the song
Lineup: keys - Mathias Claus, guitar - Bobby Brewer, bass - Bill Lawrence, drums - Filippo Bertacche, sax/WX11 - Bob Johnson Mathias Claus Profile Academic Education: Jazz piano diploma with excellence at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg/Germany (class Prof. Glawischnig), including classical studies. Attended courses at the famous Berklee College in Boston, USA (jazz piano class of Ray Santisi). Solo Piano ... is just a reflection of your Soul: I almost became a solo pianist with the years, mainly playing contemporary jazz piano solo based concerts. I studied the history of jazzpiano as well as classical stuff (sound, technique and touch). My aims are to have the full groove of a band working just only within my two hands and 88 keys of my grand piano and to develop a kind of jazz with a personal sound and touch and a portion of heartfelt spiritual momentum. All tracks are direct recorded unedited live music takes. Vocal / Piano Duo - The beauty you are is the beauty you create: As a quite emotional piano player I always had a strong relation to vocals, singing and lyrics. I try to play the piano like a voice as I tend to feel these vibes. I worked as a pianist sideman for many vocalists in the past. If you are a singer and like to be backed by my one man piano orchestra feel free to let me know. Recently I am working on various projects with vocalists like Birgid Jansen (Germany, Hamburg) and Misha Steinhauer (Russia, Moscow) plus online recording collaborations with Peggy Morris (USA, Florida), always open to new ideas and collaborating. Bands - Award for collaboration recordings: Alongside I got an award in 2003 from the german foundation Soziokultur e.V. (with Peggy Morris Cyber Friends group, USA) for a inovative use of new media within my worldwide internet collaboration recordings plus resulting live tours and participation on 16 CDs worldwide. Thanks for this important experience in my life and opportunities to meet some great musicians worldwide.
