The quickest, but one of the longest songs thats gone through the recording process!
Acoustic, rock, vocal
hello! Thanks for visiting my page and my music, I hope you enjoy!
(I'm aware that the quality of some of the songs themselves are below par but the recent stuff is much better!)
Story behind the song
Well, whilst I was on a break from writing/recording another song, I was sat on the top of my stairs just playing, when I came up with the riff for the song and the lyrics just rolled out my mouth. Soooo, as a nice break (!) I thought i'd record it. But two days later I was still recording it, not so straightforward as I though it was!
It's basically a kind of story song of someone thinking back to earlier points in their life. I left the memories quite general too.
Recording wise it was quite fun too, I tried many different techniques to give it quite a haunting melody. meh, see what you think!
Lyrics
I remember when we were kids
We choked on all our laughing fits
Them were the days we sometimes say
Thank God for the memories
(thank God for the memories)
I remember when we were young
All of us in eternal fun
But then we all had to grow up
I defy the man who said enough is enough
(I defy the man who said enough is enough)
And the winds still blow
and the grass still grows
And the church bell rings
All for this
I remember when we were 12
Just before teens as well,
Funny how times will move
But hey, today's great too
(but hey, today's great too)
I remember 3 years ago
Friendships made starting to grow
I love how we've come so far
We all leave our marks
And the winds still blow
and the grass still grows
And the church bell rings
All for this
I remember yesteryear
To this day its still so clear
Holding hands or embracing
Either way it was great to me
(Either way it was great to me)
I wonder were we will be
In 10 years time we shall see
I'll give you a call and see how're things
Who knows what the future will bring
(who knows what the future will bring)
