punk acoustic folk pop punk wishing well collective
Folk punk with a pop punk edge.
I started this sometime in 2004, but I didn't do anything with it until November 2006. I write songs about anything. Some of them aren't true, and some of them are my feelings about some, more or less, political issues.

Story behind the song
Elections are a sham.
Lyrics
“Majority rule,” they say, “is the only way.” And they laud me if I don’t partake in the system that makes me a slave. Inaction’s OK so long as I show up on Election Day. If I vote I’ve done my civic duty, that’s what makes this country a beauty. I don’t have to do anything except let them put me on my knees. That is my only job; if I don’t do anything else I still won’t be wrong. Everyone says, “Things are gunna change! We’ll wake up to a better day.” When their party triumphs over the other we’ve just traded one evil for another. I don’t see how things are gunna change, everything is gunna remain the same. This two party system is a sham. It’s nothing more than a grade-A scam. They argue and fight but they’re on the same side: Helping whitey keep power and forcing us all to cower. They want us to fear and to always be scared, b/c none of them really care They care about profits and social control, those are their only goals. You’ve got to wonder what their in it for, b/c it obviously isn’t for the poor. They make many promises, and they’re not going to come through with any of them. Each and every one of them thinks that they are some kind of gem. They’re all pulling a con, tomorrow it won’t matter who’s lost or won. Everyone says, “Things are gunna change! We’ll wake up to a better day.” When their party triumphs over the other we’ve just traded one evil for another. I don’t see how things are gunna change, everything is gunna remain the same. The problems of today aren’t just gunna up and go away. War, greed, globalization, civil rights, and democratization will all still exist, and we’ll be here ready to resist. And you say you understand the way it works, but that’s a lie.
