Story behind the song
I was nearly fired from a job. I translated the situation over to a broken marriage. Result is "Too Much Rain." I actually lived in Seattle for a while. There really is too much rain there, at least, for me.
Lyrics
We were married in a hurry And you told me not to worry There'd be sunshine and blue skies for you and me Then you brought me to Seattle Where we pitched a constant battle And that's too much rain for me. From the Midwest to the Northwest How you thought that I'd be impressed With the stormy weather I will never see While the forecast just grew blacker It was true love I was after And the sunshine that was never meant to be Not enough sunshine - too much rain Not enough laughter - too much pain Now you broke my heart what else can I do? You couldn'dt keep your wedding vows Now keep the car and keep the house Too much rain, too much rain to stay with you Now I'm leaving in a hurry So you need not ever worry Bout the sunshine that you never meant to be Now I'm heading for St. Louis And you'd better not pursue me Cause it's too much rain for me
