Not very deep. Not the kind that I usually write but wanted to try somethin new.
I write country songs mainly.
Hey there. I'm mostly trying to make it as a country songwriter for a variety of reasons. The reasons aren't important here, just the fact that I'm trying to demonstrate my songs. Also, most of these songs will be only vocal, maybe some of them with piano but I have no way to make full songs right now. All songs are copyrighted.
Story behind the song
Absolutely nothin. Just the desire to try somethin new.
Lyrics
I'll Keep My Truck
After 2 years ya told me,
I'm not good enough for you,
You said, "I'll keep our house and I'll keep the tv,
And I'll keep that old Ford too."
You thought that I was begging to stay,
When I got down on my knees,
But I was only picking up my keys.
I'll keep my truck,
That's all I need,
You can keep this old shack,
And that dusty old TV.
You ought'ta know,
You're outta luck,
You can keep everything else,
But I'll keep my truck.
You can call yourself a lawyer,
You can try your best to sue,
But there ain't no way you'll get me,
To hand this truck over to you.
It shoulda hit me long ago,
That you're only a tease,
But rest assured, you'll never get my keys.
I'll keep my truck,
That's all I need,
You can keep this old shack,
And that dusty old TV.
You ought'ta know,
You're outta luck,
You can keep everything else,
But I'll Keep my truck.
So now I offer some words of advice,
And I'll leave you with these,
Don't waste your time trying to get my keys.
I'll keep my truck,
That's all I need,
You can keep this old shack,
And that dusty old TV.
You ought'ta know,
You're outta luck,
You can keep everything else,
But I'll Keep my truck,
You can keep everything else,
But I'll keep my truck.
