well, it was my birthday, so I decided to write a song about the whole getting older and birthday thing!

Birthday song 

I said to myself, myself, I say 
today’s the day , it’s my birthday
my teeth aren’t yet loose, my eyes not blurry 
but what now come slow, I used to do in a hurry
               
and its happy birthday,   blow out the candles 
   one  more  grey hair , two more love handles

(and it’s happy birthday to me….)

better enjoy it, before things go awry 
enjoy every sandwich, live for the day
at least that’s what I hear them all say
        
and its happy birthday, and time to take stock
	you’re too young to roll and too old to rock

                     I looked forward to birthdays, then I got smart
                    just a way of getting closer to when you depart
                  they give you cake and you love the attention
	      but you’re one year closer to what they don’t mention

it’s a comedy,  a  thriller, with a long, long ending
at least that’s the hope, on which I’m depending

       and its happy birthday, make a wish, and then blow
       enjoy the ride till you have to go.
