Bagpipes and folk music and electronic music and rock and spaceyness and bears, oh my!
Seán O'Donnell, a Pittsburgh-area native, has been playing music longer than he realizes. He started with the bagpipes at age 7 and in the 19 years since added guitar, bass, and keyboards to his arsenal. He also records his own music and has produced demos for friends. Seán has performed at a variety of weddings, funerals, memorials, and bars and coffee houses in Southwestern Pa. and Indiana. He is a member of Truth in Advertising and has played various other bands, including Farm Gold Ensemble, Soliloquy, Funkadelic Relic and the Laurel Highlanders Pipe Band, of which he was Pipe Sergeant. In addition to performing and recording original music, he wrote music for a movie by Joel Pugh yet to be released. While his songwriting has been influenced by all the usual suspects (as well as the unusual ones), Seán's songs retain a sense of originality that lends to their continuing evolution.

Story behind the song
"Sweet Dreams" features the voice of Sarah Ciotti, an old friend of O'Donnell's. Her vocals were recorded in Seán's apartment in Pittsburgh's South Oakland neighborhood in 2001. Although a mix of the song was completed at the time, O'Donnell was never quite satisfied and re-recorded it. Originally written as a lullabye, the 2001 death of his aunt and uncle, Heidi and Charles Hughes, prompted his dedication of the song in their memory. Charles Hughes was Drum Sergeant in the bagpipe band O'Donnell played in (and ultimately the reason he began playing bagpipes), so it is fitting that the uplifting coda features drums from a bagpipe band.
Lyrics
When dawn has broken And you've awoken I wish you well And hope that you've found Your way through the night.
