songs from a twin cities basement
I'm Eric Kalenze, and Gawker Slowdown is the name I've given my little musical hobby. While I'm currently in a state of semi-retirement from music, I still write and play out occasionally. All songs on this site were written, performed, and recorded by me in my Twin Cities basement.

Lyrics
the impulse tattoo that once meant so much to you has all been faded to a sick and tired shade of greenish-blue back then you used to think a little permanent ink would pull you from the brink of the space that you kept fallin' into tell me, are you much better now? first it was gin and quinines, then afternoons of red wine thought you were doing fine, until you realized you were just inside, drowning it was deaf to your reprimands, so you took another's hand you loved it so true and so grand, but it never understands just follows behind, breathing at you it's all right, we've all got one it's best if you just learn how to live with it it's all right, we've all got one it's best if you just learn how to live with it and try not to hurt anyone tell me, are you much better now? see you reading those books, trying to figure it out does it silence the voices to turn the music so loud or is it all about trying to forget?
