Lyrics
Hey pretty baby whats on your mind? Lets take a ride and get a cup of grind Grab your hat and Ill grab my gear Well play a few songs people like to hear Along comes a man in a tie and a suit 'Says he owns the music and we owe him some loot Nobody here making more than a dime You get ten percent of nothing on the dotted line CHORUS Well I guess you can kiss my ASCAP Shut my mouth, tear up my contract Get outa my head and stay outa my lungs A song cant live if it aint sung Yeah up at the Cup its a pretty sweet scene Open mics and Friday Nights and in between 'Lot of good people come to celebrate The songs that make this country great Theres bards and congas and mandolins Pickers and grinners and original sins A ukulele bluesman and Uncle John And theyll be beggin for Megan for the night is gone CHORUS Well I guess you can kiss my ASCAP Shut my mouth, tear up my contract Get outa my head and stay outa my lungs A song cant live if it aint sung Did I tell you that I wrote a song or two myself If you want to sing em brothers then you give em hell How you can steal it if you pass it round? Thats the only reason that I wrote it down Tell everyone I wrote it and mention my name Ask another if they cover would they do the same If you make a dollar buy a set of strings But if you make a million, then you give me a ring REPEAT CHORUS TWICE
