Artist description Michael writes thoughtful, reflective lyrics and adds smooth melodies and flowing harmony. This music is always easy on the ears, and is best when listened to with headphones. The lyrics are probing, personal and psychological, but written so that we can use the symbolism and find the message within. He writes about relationships, love, life, death the future and the past. Story behind the song
This song originated from a poem I wrote, in which I pretend to observe humanity as an outsider(which is how I feel sometimes). I always felt that there was not enough shame in ourselves as a species for our weaknesses. How could we defend this ridiculous behavior to another intelligent species? Nations are just people in numbers, and one on one, there is no cause for murder.
Lyrics
Good and Bad © 2006 Michael Wells They were mainly good, they worked for good things They loved their families, they healed their sick They worked to feed the ones they loved And some reached out to others But all of them were angry every now and then they would all have arguments and fights some would have more enemies than friends They saw the world in good and bad They saw the world in good and bad Good and bad They lost their way, what they could have been emotions tied with logic in very twisted ways some try to follow blinded urges Instincts to compete – to be proud, to protect their own to fear the unknown They never had the chance to see how easy it would be to reject the ruthless ways It surely must be lust for blood, to choose the path of violence over peaceful ways. And yet so many were so eager to give away their soul to chemistry, evangelists, presidents and charlatans Never let them see you sweat, never admit defeat Never back down, never give in Never waver, never turn Noble paths followed by friend as well as foe This explains the mess they’re in War is not a noble cause, this is not self defense Nations are just people in numbers and one on one, there is no cause for murder
