Story behind the song
Richard says: Intially this was going to be an instrumental, but Rob kept hearing "the boys and a good ole time" in the melody (tis funny how these things happen aint it ?) So i was duly summoned out of retirement to write a lyric for this track. I decided to make it about something we could all relate to - hanging out with our buddies and what that means, and also how it feels when those buddies can't always be around, deep huh ? Nilsy, Matt & Rob came to the party nicely musically, so far be it for me to take it elsewhere, Rob sang this one, which seemed justified seeing as it was Rob's idea to wrote this tune in the first place. Nilsy's piano, Matt's bass and our friend Robin's sax really complimented each other nicely on this tune. It has gone on to be a favourite of all who have heard the album.

Hi,Rich! First,-thanx so much ,man, for your comments on "I don't give a damn".I've been spinnin' some of your trax here.Man,I love them!! You can certainly sing, and know how to express the emotions thru the "no-bull sh** -Blues-Rock".Dunno,why you've never told me 'bout this.I mean,I've know idea that you can sing.Just incredible, man!!!No f....g middle-of-the-road stuff,- just the REAL ONE!!!! This song ,as well as others from this direction are absolutely up my park.Sounds like made in da real studio-very full and fat,y'know what I mean. Anyways,congrats,Rich,-that was a big revelation for me.Thumbs up! If you have occasionally some spare Blues-Rock lyrics just drop them my way!! Best!!
