Lyrics
How Can You Say That You Love Me? © 2005) Dawn Kenealy You still look in my eyes. Still can see into my soul. Still say you’ll love me forever But I’m here alone. You say it’s too much to handle. Too complicated to stay. That love doesn’t conquer it all, and it’s better this way. How can you say that you love me? Why do you keep me holding on? Why do you say that we can’t be together, but you won’t say that love is gone. How can you say that you love me, and still want to be apart? You need to come home or you need to let go of my heart- How can you say that you love me? You say you want to stay close, and who knows, maybe in time How can you say that you love me? Why do you keep me holding on? Why do you say that we can’t be together, but you won’t say that love is gone. How can you say that you love me, and still want to be apart? You need to come home or you need to let go of my heart- How can you say that you love me? How can you say that you love me?

Beautiful song with a strong message and a strong, memorable melody. I like songs that have questions in them because it somehow makes them more personal, and then automatically puts the listener into the position of trying to answer the questions themselves. Your words run deep here, and sometimes I think people hold on simply and merely because they're afraid to let go and be on their own. What they don't realize, though, is that they're already on their own in that kind of situation. Great song....makes me think back to another time in my own life and smile at my own decisions back then.
