Hippy Dye Cowboy is an idea, a band, a dream, some music, some friends, and a recording project. It also stays crispy in milk and goes well with a nice, dark honey porter. The band, as such, is comprised of several people who have collaborated on both musical and lyrical content. These efforts are then collected by Todd; the work is distilled and coaxed into a final product. While not a band in the traditional sense, it doesn't truly fall into the category of "solo act". None of the music would exist without the contributions of the whole.

Story behind the song
A great example of Sterling's Beck/Burroughs inspired stream of consciousness writing. Beginning with a series of ideas from Sterling, Lisa and Todd added some ideas and together the trio worked out the final version in 1996. The music was completed in the same evening, based on acoustic guitar and bass. The wah-wah guitar, electric lead and other effects were always intended for this song, but it wasn't until recently that "Stuck" was finally recorded as it was always meant to be.
Lyrics
Trippin' on a dancing god, I drop my anchor in the devil's suitcase, Blow back cadillac dance, chainsmoke flashbacks, Put my eyes in a paper sack, out of whack... The seed creeps into me, Sympathy crutches in a morphine mushroom cloud, Void cage serenade, one room purple velvet gaze, I slip down, spiral round, all amazed, can't remain... ****** Stuck together at the edges, my mind feels fake, Papercut derelict, suicide ledges, passed on down... While the rats watch the races, leaping through a leprous oasis, Soul shifting through ramshackle towns... ****** An old man in my closet, Smiles wriggling from his sockets & tries to hide, Sympathetic soul syphilis, voodoo zombie dream kids, Eating time, preying on the passers-by, Try to keep myself inside... ****** (Trippin' on a dancing god,) (The seed creeps into me,) (An old man in my closet,) (Stuck together at the edges...)
