Lyrics
Tell ‘A This
Verse 1:
Oh,
Another time, another place,
Another song I’m gonna sing about a beautiful face,
When I saw her underneath July skies,
My spirit was bright like the light in her eyes,
After one sight I had an addiction,
Never felt before my whole attitude trippin,
I gave ‘a my all and all the rest besides,
All the romance and the love that I could feel inside,
But damn, I was too shy to meet her,
See her in the street and I was too shy to greet her,
Tingling in my feet and I couldn’t speak to her,
Scared to seem foolish so I wouldn’t be alert,
And she don’t even look twice in my direction,
Why consider second-best when you’ve found perfection?
I’m guessing she was centre of attention for men,
The whole story got me feeling the blues again,
But then, months after I laid eyes,
Saw a smile that I thought was just for other guys,
Know the kind? Sparkled, curled up at the side,
Made my throat dry, but made me grin alright,
So I was high, and I started dressing to impress her,
Only the best in case I ended up next ‘her,
When I finally spoke, I think she wanted to listen,
So I opened my mouth and I told her this, ‘n…

Hey, yaw,
I just wanna know how you doing,
And I,
Really wanna play you some of this music,
I’m feeling happy, just to see you here,
And I,
Hope you happy seeing me…
Verse 2:
Now when she moves up next to me,
Tell ‘a she’s got the recipe,
And she knows how to get the best,
She’ll get the rest of me,
And so, pretty soon we were seen around,
Someone said they saw the two of us in town,
She gave me cherries lazing by the river at noon,
It was cool, and on the real things were moving on soon,
Two weeks later called her on her celly,
She said that she was going to be on the telly,
But that meant that she’d be leaving for good,
So I wouldn’t see her anymore around the neighbourhood,
Well I was sad, man, what can I say?
Gone tomorrow, but here today?
I rushed to her house, and told her please don’t go,
But she turned ‘round and sat me down and said to me, yo!

Verse 3:
Well, I guess that that’s the way it flows,
The people who you want are the people who you gotta let go,
And I learnt a tough lesson from her,
Seeing that the blessings never lessen from her,
So that’s the little story that I wanted to tell,
I wrote it for a part, even though it won’t sell,
Though I had these sentiments, I don’t have them now,
But I like to reminisce about those sights and sounds…
