My grandmom kept me all summer & made me the man I am today
Showed me that a my education was something that I shouldn’t delay
I know when I dropped outta school it broke her heart
But went back and got my GED to give my life a good start
Summers spent on the beach and weekends at the boardwalk
And conversated about how my days we neva ignored talk
She got me my first job and taught me how to handle my money
But when I got home I blew it all on junk, aint life funny
Then she got sick and cancer was eatin her away
When I found out I was wit my dad and cried that whole day
She fought for some years and lived to see my wife
I gladly would of traded places and went under the knife
My grams had a heart of gold that no-one could eva take
And now she aint here because of a doctors mistake
