Progression Magazine, which goes to forty-nine countries around the world, in its Summer/Fall 2004 issue said, "Welcome to the world of Rick Kalister, where he never met a guitar or musical style he didn't like. This Midwestern axe-slinger is a musical chameleon who can seamlessly drift from sensitive and mellow tones to bluesy outbursts and pure guitar freak-outs at the drop of a hat. Also, The Cleveland Free Times in its March 9, 2005 issue said this about Rick Kalister's Progressive Jam Experiment, "Any progressive or blues aficionado will find much to appreciate here." My long-term plans are to keep expanding the perimeters of what the guitar can do while never forgetting the heart.
