Story behind the song
I was struggling with the morality of killing other humans, this song outlines part of the tale of that struggle...
Lyrics
War Mongrel Copyright (c) 1991 by Randy Morter ================================== Genesis describes the seven days First man, then woman And how innocence gave way Darwin outlines a different tale: From beast to man, An evolutionary scale Whichever path that you believe, Through wheel and fire And what he could conceive, Man forged ahead, divided the world. Both Science and God’s mysteries were unfurled. From the depths of hell, The destructive side of Science, The War Mongrel arose. Using government as license, He created gunpowder, Atom bombs and chemicals unseen. Using command posts and wardrooms To drive the War Machine, He devised ways to dismember, Disfigure and subdue. He pit man against his brother, Until all the world was through, was through. What Science evolved, or God created, The War Mongrel dissolved. Did man come from beast? Or beast come from man? Are they even discreet?
