Story behind the song
david - this is the "slow" song, it's kind of long, and pretty choppy, lyrically it's alright, another song about how much i hate music/fans/industry (for more examples please see "bearelling along") Ryan ~ i like the sort of "plain white t's" feel we have to this song. violins are a must. i love this song... it's great Dustin-This song is solid. I cant find anything wrong with it. It is powerful and well composed. But I guess there is always room for improvment. I'm not to crazey about the low backup vocals during the chorus.
Lyrics
singing on your own mumbling the only song, the only song you know, and all those notes they bury you the words we hoped would carry you are taking you away, taking you away, when all the things they're selling you and all the things we're telling you they someday go away, will a be a faded memory just seconds thought of apathy cause nothing ever changed, i guess this is the price i pay for when i tried to mean something someday, and i'm not sure that i'm cut out for this life and everything inside, you look at me like i never even tried today another way i hope i get there somehow someday, i'm singing on my own, mumbling that lonely, the lonely song i wrote, and all those notes they bury, the words you scream are scaring me, like "come take it all away" i guess this is the price i pay for when i turned and walked the other way, so i put my trust in you, hoped everyone would pull through, found out much to late, to soon that everything just wasn't true, these people i thought that i knew
