Artist picture
New/Old school Folk/Rock artist with a flair for poignant melodies and meaningful lyrics.
Thomas Palminteri is a singer/songwriter, composer with a subtle and varied gift for lyrics and melody in the tradition of Paul Simon and Randy Newman. He has written both songs that tell a story such as ïSpring Has Goneï and Waiting for the No.12 and composed instrumental music such as ïJourney to the Black Madonnaï the enigmatic Mass in C that defy categorization. In his teenage years he developed a strong appreciation for Rock music beginning with The Beatles and later became enamored with the more eclectic groups of his adolescence such as the Talking Heads and Elvis Costello. Later in college when he decided to study music more formally Tom became deeply affected by Classical and Jazzï particularly J.S. Bach, Mozart, Faure and Debussy.

Story behind the song
Folk/Rock, my attempt to merge R.E.M. with the Beatles..the result: EIO sounding like a bunch of hippies. That's ok because we still like the song. One reviewer thought we were a "jam-band" after hearing this track. And deemed it a song as a "hippy-tude" jam for sure. Not my orginal intention but I'll take it. This recording was not really an Eric's In Oregon recording although we used to play it often. The line up was me and Scott on Vocals and guitars and Mike Doonan on Bass and Steve Caferelli on Drums and backing vocals.
Lyrics
The One Road I want to find out ( to find out ) on the road ( to find out ). In time ( you'll find out ). What we all want. What we don't want… No one wants ( to find out ) on the road ( to find out ). But in time, (you'll find out ). What we don't want, what we all want to know… There is only one road (that’s the road of love). And you know ( what I’ve found) ? The moon ( the stars ) all have their say. It just turns out that way… There is only one road (that’s the road of love). Oh (love, love, love…) what you want to know…is it causing you pain? Oh (love, love, love) what you wanna know is the change the pain? …well (love, love, love), what you want to know on the road of love? Is that the road your on? There is only one road (that’s the road of love). Can we love? Can we love? Words and Music by Thomas Palminteri
