It's what's in the heart that determines who we are, what we do, and what happens to the world--sung by Mike Lusk.

Story behind the song
Life is a mess because of sin, and sin is a problem because people have heart problems. This song deals with matters of the heart.
Lyrics
Matters of the Heart
1. “Knowledge,” they say, “fills the head.”
But love, it’s true, fills the heart.
Why waste your time with mind’s emptiness,
When God deals with matters of the heart?
2. Some are bitter ‘cause they’ve failed,
And things seem to fly all apart.
Why go through life with such bitterness,
When God deals with matters of the heart?
Chorus:
All that really matters
Is what we are within.
It’s not what’s on the outside
That causes us to sin.
It’s what comes from the inside that tears our world apart.
All that really matters
Is matters of the heart.
3. People are harsh toward each other,
And harshness a tear often starts.
Why go through life causing teardrops,
When God deals with matters of the heart?
4. There’s Someone to fill the void.
So move to faith; make a start.
Why be condemned without Jesus,
When God deals with matters of the heart?
Chorus:
