Hello. I am a currently unpublished songwriter and musician. i've been playing in bands and writing for 20+ years and am now ready to take the next step in furthering my dream of being a hit songwriter. I know it's tough to get your foot in the door, but I think once it's there no one will slam it in my face. I will add demos as I get them done. Hope you enjoy.

Lyrics
“Me and Donnie Ray” © 2006 By Michael Pankey Verse 1. I was eight years old and so was he when I first met Donnie Ray. His Mom and him were movin in just in time for my birthday. A house full of kids, with one out on the lawn. I never even met him, but I went to ask my Mom. “ Mama, there’s a boy outside. I was wonderin if I could…. ask him in to celebrate.” And she said that I should. Chorus: So, me and him, side by side, together all the way. “I can’t wait to go inside.” I swore I heard him say. I took a breath and held his hand and lead him all the way. Just a boy, then a friend, now a brother. Me and Donnie Ray. Verse 2. We were sixteen when our high school team won the biggest game. They hung the banner way up high with everybody’s name. The whole gym stood up when we walked out on the floor. And me and him both agreed we’d never seen this town, before, stand together, full of pride. Like a hero’s coming home. And when they called his name, Donnie wouldn’t go alone. Chorus Verse 3. We were older men with families when we both went off to war. I came back and so did he, but not the way we were prayin for. The flags were flyin low as we drove through our home town. On our way to Donnie’s church where we’d pray and lay him down. The congregation full of pride. The courage he had shown. With little flags and hands on hearts to finally bring him home. Chorus
