Story behind the song
This is my story. A story of abandonment by my earthly father - a story of a father who never appreciated my gifts or talents. Rather he wanted me to be who he thought I should be, even though I only saw him once a year after my parent's divorce. But more than that, it is a song of redemption - a song of a God who knew exactly who He created me to be and who held and still holds my future in His hands. My Father hears my song and He loves and accepts me as I am.
Lyrics
Little girl lost, longs to sit on her father's knee. Strong arms to catch her, when she falls - Eyes to adore her - filled with pride at her song. (Chorus) Mirabelle's promise, a promise to be - All her God created her to be...destiny. Mirabelle's promise. Little girl lost - sings a song to herself, A song of hope and love. The angels sing in chorus, up above - Her Father smiles from heaven - filled with pride at her song. Little girl lost - alone and broken, Searches for her happy song. Her Father weeps, as He watches o-er her - Who will hope with her - filled with pride at her song? Little girl found - no longer a stranger, Her song born anew, a dream come true. Spirit soaring, filled with wonder - Filled with pride - at her Father's song.
