Story behind the song
I had written "Call His Name" a few months earlier when I started this one with the music first, which is something I rarely do. Sonya suggested I write another inspirational tune and 15 mins later, the lyrics were finished and 4 hours later, this is what we had.
Lyrics
Hand In Hand The tides are rising bringing waves to the shore. You can step aside try not to break your stride Or walk a little closer than you have before Someone is calling asking you to make a stand You can turn it off try not to hear his call Or answer the call and walk Hand in Hand Walk a little closer to the water Talk a little longer with your brother You can reach out and help a friend Walking Hand in Hand A friend is sinking drowning in their fear You can throw a line help them up and you will find It’s easier when you’re walking Hand in Hand (Bridge) The sun is shining trying to make a brighter day Dark clouds are hiding when the light keeps on finding, a better way Walk a little closer to the water Talk a little longer with your brother You can reach out and help a friend Walking Hand in Hand Walking Hand in Hand Written by Barbara Wilkinson 10/10/05 c 2005 Barbara Wilkinson 2280 Freetown Rd Vicksburg, Ms 39183 barsoda@cablelynx.com www.bgwilkinson.com
