I am a simple musician finding ways to be heard...so here is the first, maybe first of concern. If anything I hate the bland monotony of some of the popular bands' lyrics and even music...so I tend to attempt to redefine what is to be heard.

Story behind the song
This song sprang from an inspiration I found in a talent show at a teen camp. The chorus particularly, how the power of the music and vocals stand out so much with the declaration of determination. However, adding my twist and spin like I always do, I made into a progressive story that follows along the wings of chorus, 1-3. The first chorus is an indignant shout for freedom from the one he's fighting not to love anymore, screaming out that he's had enough of being forced to wait and rot away as his dreams are crushed in disappointment, however, he keeps his promises. The next chorus is reminding of an instance where he stood up for her...against the tide of the many, he fights it back to uphold her...for he keeps his promises. He won't back down when the tide gets high, for even in his past indignation, he keeps his promises. The final chorus is the truth...not withheld...he's tired of fighting it. For truth is what shall guide him in the midst of a dark world. The Light has seemed to have gone out, but still he presses on to let truth light his path...for he keeps his promises to the one he loves. The truth is bare, and he's learned there's no reasons to hide it.
