Story behind the song
One more step is pretty self-explanatory. Faith happens one step at a time. Each time you trust in God in one decision, a harder one follows it. It's a constant "staircase" of opportunities to either trust in God or trust in yourself. Ultimately, the staircase leads to heaven... unless you mess up the one big decision, the decision to accept Jesus's sacrifice for your sins. It's a free gift... seems like a pretty easy decision to me.
