Story behind the song
This song was written by D.F. Jones (domj) from the Acoustic forum here at Soundclick. The song's lyrics captivated me; I immediately heard the song in my head done with full instrumentation. Here is the result. I hope you like it. Thanks, domj!!
Lyrics
Elisabeth had a dog Who was born a vegetable She used to take it for long walks Bound to roller skates with orange bailing twine Elisabeth loved him so And she thought he loved her just as much But when she looked deep into his eyes She saw a large – a large part of herself Chorus And all the townsfolk would just laugh and shout Put it down, put it down, Elisabeth, put it down And then one day he died And Elisabeth – Elisabeth died too As when a large part of you does We’re all prone- we’re all prone to it too Chorus And mountains are high And rivers are long – rivers are long There is nothing that won’t crumble And there is nothing that won’t dry D.F. Again - this song is so captivating - RApples' production and domj's strange, sad little story equals top notch work and inspired flash of insight. I suspect it's somehow over my head - but I still think it's very profound.
