Story behind the song
Like actors in a lingering play - they drive their cars - walk down the street - and silently eat their dinner - wishing for more than subsistence. They walk the walk, and talk the talk - but the reason eludes them. As the lonely go - so goes their revolving lives. Their empty hands long to hold another's. Their hollow hearts echo as they speak - but not feel. Desperately they act out their parts, but in truth only recite the words. Fear that Love has failed them - forces them into tangles and knots that bitters them and confounds them when true Love comes. Quietly the candlelight at dinner goes unnoticed and the fire flickers and fades. Sinking in their makeshift Love their hearts go unfulfilled - While overhead Love wisps away like a fallen leaf into the river of time.
