Lyrics
DEFICITS OF THE HEART BLACKBIRDS I’ve got time to wonder as I hear the thunder What did I do the day I left you. Why did I sever what you thought forever? I couldn’t see that your love kept me free. And the rain pouring down on my face. I can still remember in my 6th November Nothing to say as my dad drove away. Why did he leave? I just couldn’t believe That his love was a lie. I could not say goodbye. And the rain trickles down on my face. I have tried redemption; I’ve sought resurrection. I’ve been washed in that stream and I thought I came clean. But something still blinds me; there are chains that still bind me. I can’t find the key that might open me. And the rain settles into my soul. As I rose this morning, without any warning, Tears on my bed. I recalled what you said. You asked why I fear what others hold dear; That I’d never be whole when I can’t share my soul. And I’ll find I’m alone in this world. Yes I find I’m alone in this world. I’m forever alone in this world. MIKE SLAJCHERT BLACKDOG RECORDS COPYRIGHT 2006
