A song about the struggles of divorce

Alternative/Indie/Christian
Hello and thanks for visiting my page. I am a local independent musician from Indianapolis, Indiana. I have been playing music professionally for over twenty years. I have degrees in music theory and composition from Indiana State University and Indiana University. The songs you find here wil be a nice mix of alterative, indie and Christian music. Most of the Christian songs will not sound overtly "Christian" in nature lyrically. You really have to read into the lyrics. Most of them are written to appeal to the "unchurched" or those new to their faith walk. In the course of listening to various Christian artists I found that so many were sappy and typical. That is not to say that there are not good Christian musicians out there because there are. Those songs appeal to a wide range of Christians and that's great. However, I wanted to do something a little different. My songs are a bit more pragmatic in their approach. I hope you like them. Please give me any honest feedback. It is greatly appreciated.

Story behind the song
This song is about divorce. It was written to convey two distinctive thoughts from both the man and women. The man has given up trying to please and thus accepts that he needs to move on. The woman, try as she might, does not understand what she has done wrong. The metaphor of the "One-Lane Bridge" shows how a road can suddenly narrow and we must cross it alone.
Lyrics
ONE-LANE BRIDGE By; Alex Scott VERSE I: Don't look now she said but here comes trouble reaing its ugly head/As a last resort to the people's court/And I can hear the lonely whine 'round the ridge coming across this one-lane bridge VERSE II: So it's here we take our stand/We draw a line and stick hearts in the sand/We don't know where to start to put the horse before the cart/And I'm trying so hard not to come unhinged as we meet head-on 'cross this one-lane bridge BRIDGE: Hear the 3:00 A.M. whine/Hear her comin' right on time/I'll walk this thin-thread line 'til the dawn's rise VERSE III: Looks like this engine's finally stalled/This time she had to make the call with her back up against the wall/And whatever hearts are broken or on the mend they don't make it 'cross this one-lane bridge REPEAT VERSE I Copyright 2002 (Revised 2005) By: SmartAlex Music Thingie All Rights reserved Unauthorized Reproduction Prohibited
