Story behind the song
My brother Sparkey wrote the song during our Key of Magic Years. It was a song meant to inspire and encourage us to focus on the smaller things in life when the larger picture was too stressful or unbearable and to keep moving forward no matter how slowly. Sparkey sings on this track.
Lyrics
Every single human being is born with a blank slate of time, to fill whatever way they wish, to find a reason and a rhyme, to find a niche that's best for them while clocks ring out with every chime. Before life's plan is possible, one basic thing must first be done. We must exist in present time, not one moment can we shun. Every single second's dear, live in every single one. Don't let the future or the past surround you. Open your eyes to what's around you. The present moment is the one that found you. Gear down, but don't give up, if you ever wanna be somebody. Sometimes the pressure gets so bad, we lose sight of our goals. We often forget just who we are and live in other people's roles. One solution works every time to get us out of such holes. Don't try to solve the big picture plan. Put something small in your own hand. And do the only thing you can. Gear down, but don't give up, if you ever wanna be somebody. Don't forget the small, simple things, beams of light that can fill our beings. In the deepest state of despair and grief try noticing the veins of a living leaf. When the larger battles make you shriek and cry, watch a colorful sunset repaint your sky! Now pick a time to choose your path, carve that path to meet your dreams. Know when to assess and make decisions, address the fate of turning schemes. Rest of the time live and enjoy the treasured moments in between. For they alone will help you grow, teach you all you need to know. Don't fight their feelings, just let them flow. And gear down, but don't give up, if you ever wanna be somebody. Gear down, but don't give up.
