A glorious live music venue in Norwich was nearly lost, and this is the killjoys' song
acoustic duo jazz instrumental folk blues fretless renbourn jansch pentangle davy graham blue horizon
Artist picture
Semi-acoustic guitar, bass and vocal duo, 2000-2006, no longer together
Both with folk roots overlaid with classical training, both with many years’ rock-band experience but without having lost a passion for jazz and blues, and both still nuts about their playing without taking themselves too seriously, Rick Hayward and Heather Enid Wells were A Little Uneasy.

Story behind the song
For seven years on Christmas Day, A Little Uneasy played at St Andrew's Hall in Norwich for the 'homeless and lonely' at Norwich Open Christmas, where 400 guests dine, play bingo, get entertainment all day, and a gift, for free. However, at the behest of a rich couple living nearby, the imposition of a sound limiter so draconian that mere audience noise triggered it made any sort of amplification difficult to use. Sadly one of the couple died, the music now continues - quietly. And Norwich Open Christmas still welcomes many guests each year to enjoy the day together.
Lyrics
The killjoys who try to destroy live music usually go something like this: For goodness' sake turn the music down, I lie awake - turn the music down. What does it take? turn the music down! I can't hear myself think. Would you be so kind? turn the music down, If you wouldn't mind - turn the music down, Or I think you'll find (turn the music down) That I'll raise a big stink! I'm not looking to spoil your fun I like music, like anyone, But now I'm ready to get my gun - It's driving me to drink! I'm asking you, turn the music down. Won't you hear my view? turn the music down. I hope you do turn the music down, I can't hear myself think!"
