I wrote this song to introduce what I have witnessed and what I want you to open your eyes and see. Although a bit dark it can be used for positive change. Enjoy

Peace All: You are invited to enjoy the music and spoken word of Resa E. I am a lyricist, a poet, and a revolutionary. I am influenced by situations that teach me more of who I am as a person and who I aught to be. I am also motivated by lame-wack rappers who think they are supreme in this game of Hip Hop culture. Story behind the song
I wrote this on the CTA, Chicago Public transpo. Aftern being annoyed by working hard and still being hungry. What is interesting is I performed this at a open mic/poetry night and the crowd was silently in awe. I was a bit nervous because noone knew of my talent, but at the same time, so excited, because no one knew my talent.
Lyrics
I’ve Seen… I’ve seen … People laid out In the struggle for life Grown men eyes cry at sight Of their lie Black children Sick and tired Of redeeming their dream Even animals that’ve Flocked away from the scene I’ve seen… Brutality Only talked about on the news Somebody got their head split For a car and some shoes Bleeding tummies Opened wide to expose the truth Cheery trees on fire Because the roots broke in two I’ve seen… Drama & pain Again and again Sodomites and lesbians Involved in tricky mind games White girls giving knowledge To black men who are youth Penitentiaries sold-up From their books of the truth I’ve seen… Slips and falls From strains and bends I’ve played games with the devil To repent for my sins Scream, Scream. Cry, Cry. We do it all the time I’ve seen one’s get hit so hard They fall out and die Shamed not can we be Of the words that I spit Running away gets us nowhere But found in a ditch They build us to us place us Away in a place we can’t exit We blame others for the crimes That goes often undetected Standing up to unite For one common is key But until we realize Forever we struggle on our knees I’ve seen… Dogs bark viciously in the heat of the night Then suddenly all silenced By the steel that pumps life I’ve seen… So much and so many Do too little against this Too proud in their mental To even care less Rats, roaches, pissy-hallway remembrances So they tear it down Rephrase the sound To re-teach the beliefs of grief I’ve seen… With eyes open The obscene that’s often thought-provoking I’ve seen The rich and fabulous only at a “safe” distance Whispering rumors Of the unsafe children Perhaps it’s their parents Maybe quite even the schools For no one choose to admits The perpetrator is really you You push us with your Love and promises to be equal And we believe and strive to only be separated by one people that’s not the plan for that there is no proof Babylon your time is here And I’m the one to show and prove I’ve seen it written down on paper And often spoken in thought I’ve seen the words that he had spoken And it said give it all you got So the things I’ve seen May be too hard to handle But the things I posses Is even more to dismantle I’ve seen… Ideas go down Like junkies on their 4th round So pound for Motherfuckin’ pound Im going to win This round I’ve seen.. You I’ve seen… Me And just as the plot thickens I’ve seen hatred Turn to mistrust Leaving all left to burn Like grease to fried chicken So as I run out of breath Trying quickly to breathe I must say to all These are the things that I’ve seen.
