Matthew gave his London guitar debut on Valentine’s Day 2006 at St Paul’s (The Actor’s Church), Covent Garden - and has since performed as a soloist in some of Britain’s most famous concert venues, including, St John’s Smith Square, St James’ Piccadilly and St Martin In The Fields’ new music series (for young composers). In addition to performances in his native country, he has also given recitals across Europe and North America featuring on various broadcasts including BBC Radio, SW1 Radio, Spanish television as well as the online publications NME and Gibson Lifestyle. In addition to his work with the guitar, he has written solo pieces for piano, harpsichord, violin and vibraphone - as well as ensemble pieces for string quartet, wind quintet and is currently writing a violin concerto, his first large scale work. Matthew’s other musical passion is teaching and he is a Licensed guitar teacher at the music and dance academy Bird College and a visiting teacher at Bexley Grammar School and Eltham College, all in South East London. As a private teacher, he also teaches piano, improvisation and composition. Matthew lives happily with his wife Suzanne in SE London. In addition to Classical and world music, they both share an interests in gypsy jazz, as well as a love of football, films, biographical accounts, theology, string theory and Autism.

Story behind the song
This piece was first performed as an improvisation playing at a Pagan Wedding. The continuous bass is what the piece is largely based around. I tried to capture the spirit Paganism in this piece.
