Quirky, yet technical, but with something hiddy.

This is PIG. They are from Liverpool in the UK. There are three in the band that we call PIG. Paul Rowlands, Tomsk Wood and Paul McNally. Let me introduce them to you individually: Paul Rowlands Lightning lead guitarist Paul particularly favours penning those tunes with a progressive edge. And because of his keen attention to the finest details, he also excels in the production of the material that Pig record. In fact he is the producer, but because of his modest nature, he tends to laugh off any accolades that his bandmates regale him with. A lot of his guitar licks are inspired by the ancient Arbiter Flying V he owns, which is set with an action so low that it feels like it’s got no strings. In fact, it feels like it’s got no neck. Paul has swathes of flowing blond hair and likes to flick his hair about as he wields his mighty axe. If you ever see him and want to buy him a drink, he says that a cranberry schnapps will do, as long as it’s a biggy. Prost! Nettwar! Tom Wood Tom is teased by his band mates because of his nickname, “The Peruvian Love God”. He was born in Lima just a couple of decades or so ago, and spent the early years of his life playing the role of the South American Jason King because of the kinky Afro he once sported. Nowadays, of course, he’s more low-key in the coiffure department, having conformed to the mores of British society, rather than the dusky, sweaty, unctuous, and, it must be said, the Latino urges that lurk beneath the sobriety of Mr. er, Wood. Tom, is of course, the man behind the piano and keyboards in Pig. A keen football fan, Liverpool supporter Tom says with confidence that things’ll be right soon. What might he mean? We haven’t a clue. His favourite colour is burnt sienna. And he answers to Tomsk his favourite womble. Paul McNally Pauly is the newest member of the band, joining only as recently as 2002. He writes most of the stuff he brings to the table by inspiration from his lovely Takamine electro-acoustic. He eats more than the other two members of the band combined, but because of his incredibly active metabolism, he retains his impressive physique. During sessions in the studio, Pauly is the custodian of the “Holy Implement That Does Open”. Why? You may ask. Well, why indeed! Pauly was born within the sound of many other crying kids. Word has it that he was breastfed on grapefruit juice and was weaned onto pickled onions at the age of a quarter. His favourite mineral is chrysolite for obvious reasons. And he has a penchant for the slightly curious. How? Well, that’s for you to find out!

Story behind the song
Well, Eddie used to say, "what about what happened to her?! It could have been your daughter, you know! Could you sleep very nightly with the thought of it and that?" Hence the song was born.
Lyrics
Could Have Been Your Daughter © Copyright: Paul Rowlands / Tom Wood / Paul McNally Words and Music by: Paul Rowlands / Tom Wood / Paul McNally Your folks don’t like the way I comb my hair Your folks don’t like the kind of clothes I wear Because I haven’t got two bit’s Because I don’t eat at The Ritz But baby, I don’t care You take me to the highest plain You’re driving me insane You really blow my Oh man, you blow my (mind) Your folks don’t like you hanging round with me Your folks and I? Well we just don’t agree They keep you under lock and key They don’t invite me round to tea But baby, you know me Chorus Could have been your daughter Stopping out all night Could have been your daughter Your folks keep saying that you’re out of your mind They tell you “girl, he’s not the loving kind” But what they don’t quite understand Is that the clothes don’t make the man Coz baby, I know me Chorus Could have been your daughter Stopping out all night Could have been your daughter Your father takes tea in the library He’ll go ballistic when he finds out you are out with me – Oh look out! Your folks want you to see the boy next door He’s such a greenhorn needs his head explored They really haven’t got a clue So out of touch it isn’t true Coz baby I know you Chorus Contact Details: PIG C/o Attic Music 26 Keble Drive Aintree Liverpool L10 3LD England Tel: +44 (0) 151 531 1572 / +44 (0) 7973 809 301 / Email: paul@cablinguk.com
