Story behind the song
I first wrote this on the guitar to see how many different chords I could find using only two fingers and to find a fun Latin bottom beat on the E-string. It was a pleasure buiding on my original idea with the harmonies on the piano and vox.
Lyrics
COME TO ME (And Let Us Be) created- 05-01-05 Music & Lyrics by Sandra D. McCarthy (ASCAP) ============================ Intro (COME TO ME) Chorus COME TO ME. Stay with me. COME TO ME, And let us be. v1 I found you on my mind. Once again, you would hold my hand. Why can't this be real? You and I. Dreams are made of sand. Climb Can you be with me? Tides sweep my dreams out to sea. I am reaching. Stay with me. Bridge Call your name. (Call your name) Holding you. (Holding you.) Then you're gone. You can't stay. (Why can't you stay?) The tide steals you away from me. The tide leaves me barely holding on. Then the bright sky and white clouds said, "Let them be." v2 Heard you say, you loved me. Once again, I could hold your hand. We can make our hearts real. You and I. Dreams aren't made of sand. Climb You are here with me. Tides bring my dreams from the sea. You are reaching. "Let us be". Chorus COME TO ME. Stay with me. COME TO ME And let us be. Tag COME TO ME. (Sweet darling) COME TO ME. (Sweet darling) COME TO ME, to me.

I like this!! Sweet, dreamy vocals and nice keys. Like a female Syd Barret song.

Intriguing blend of latin and retro-pop in the accompaniment. Intriuging vocals and poetic lyrics. Great performance!

Much much much much better! Awesome! Love the new additions of keys and vocals! There is one spot at 1:53 into the song where the vocals don't seem quite right for about three seconds, but other than that, a masterpiece!
