Crazy One-Man Freak Show
I have been writing songs for thirty years and have some real clunkers to my credit. What you will find here are the least objectionable of the lot. I have been told I have a voice with the appeal of a room full of alarm clocks on a Monday Morning. I have a classic face for radio. I had slowed down for a while before I ran across the Just Plain Networking songwriter's forum and got recharged by the super people there. Join us if you will at www.justplainfolks.org I play to entertain me. If you find anything here of any interest, enjoy and welcome. If not, please send my address to someone you don't like. Thanks and have a safe and harmonic life, Mike

Story behind the song
Bumper stickers are great for getting hook lines, especially when you're playing to a usually tipsy college crowd. I lifted this one shamelessly and used it, and I'd do it again. This one has been rewritten since the worktape was done. I'll update soon.
Lyrics
It Ain't the Size That Counts © 2006 Mike Amason Last Saturday night my dog went out to make his rounds Thought he was a big dog, but a kitty put him down It was just a little pussycat, short, sleek and slim He woke up wondering what had happened to him Now he’s moping around with his tail between his legs And his nose rolling rocks on the ground Ch It ain’t the size that counts You all know what I’m talking about It ain’t the size that counts If he just lays there like a log It ain’t the size of your dog in the fight It’s the size of the fight in your dog (sp) In case you missed it… Like I said, all the top dogs went out to have a rumble The one that barked the loudest was the one who came home humble He ran up on a little cat, all tail and eyes Turned out to be all teeth and claws and cut him down to size Now he’s draggin’ himself around like a run over snake Not walking tall enough to stumble Ch Now, there ain’t no shame in being knocked down Long as you get up and fight another round Don’t matter if it happens to you one time or ten You gotta get yourself up and get in it again It’s better to have a chihuahua that keeps getting’ up Than a Great Dane who lays there like a little whipped pup Ch
