Classic folk-rock song, with the usual high production values I set for myself these days. Quite spiritual lyrics, and absolutely true. What are we again?

Hi, I've been writing songs since I was twelve years old, and recording them since 1985. Roger Cook (of the Cook-Greenaway-Cook songwriting partnership and Blue Mink, etc) once wrote that I have the ability to write a hit single and that he was waiting for one from me. He also said I need to 'lighten up a bit', unquote. F*ck that!

Story behind the song
A couple of mates were here having a toke and I was strumming away on the guitar when a chord sequence fell onto the guitar and wrote itself. Then it took control and I did what it told me to do, simple as that. After a month the backing track was in the bag. Chris Murphy wrote the lyric for the first two verses and the middle eight, and then got stuck. So I polished the lyric off by writing the final verse, drawing the song to its logical conclusion. I sing the first verse, and Chris takes over from the second verse onwards. Working out the five-part backing harmony vocals for the middle eight was a nightmare! But it all worked out nicely in the end, as I hope you'll agree. I also had a lot of fun playing with the vocal tracks while I was working out the false ending. I was remembering my days of psychedelia when I did it, and when the opportunity arose again recently *wink wink* it sounded and looked superb, just as I imagined it would.
Lyrics
It’s so easy to just walk away If you can’t see why you should have to stay I see your face but I can’t see your eyes Is whoever’s in there behind a disguise? Who are you and who am I? Is the you I see just something implied? Is the me I think I am just really just a lie? Or is it true we really are Earth, Moon, Stars and Sky? This hustle-bustle can’t be real Just an ache in me for an even keel It’s no answer for what can’t be found So we keep on going round and round Who are you and who am I? Is the you I see just what you imply? Is the me I think I am really just a lie? Is it true we really are Earth, Moon, Stars and Sky? All our fears, they are just an illusion We're always hungry 'cos there's never enough Within the stillness we will find the solution 'Cos what we are is eternal love I see Truth but it’s not too clear ‘Cos it’s too far away while it’s much too near It’s there in front of me and out in the Stars It’s there in everything and everything’s ours Who are you and who am I? I see the causes but I don’t see the why The me I think I am is really a lie But it’s true we really are It's true we really are It's true we really are Earth, Moon, Stars and Sky
