MAISON......Real music by a real musician...Alternative, Rock, Pop songs about life experiences we can all relate to.
Story behind the song
John Doe is a song that I wrote when I was living in L.A. while waiting for a bus on the Sunset Strip.
During my stay in Los Angeles I had the privilage of meeting alot of singers, songwriters, actors, models and musicians who had all moved to Hollywood to chase a life long dream.
Unfortunately I was told many stories of hardship, desperation and broken dreams from the city of angels. A city that can eat you up and spit you out before you've even unpacked your bags.
I can honestly say that the street performers I met in L.A. had more talent than 90 percent of the artists on the radio.
John Doe, the artist that never got a break.
Lyrics
JOHN DOE
Chorus
I'm John Doe…
I just work 9 to 5
I left my dreams at the door
cause I just don’t have the time.
If you pass me by look back
If you remember me look back
I'm John Doe.
V1
Have you ever, checked the mirror
and realized the fires gone from your eye's
It's all gone cold.
Is the life that, that your living
the one that you thought would be yours
or did you make a wrong turn
I know, you chased whats in your heart…but
sometimes, life has a different part.
But don't give up.
Chorus
I'm John Doe…
I just work 9 to 5
I left my dreams at the door
cause I just don’t have the time.
If you pass me by look back
If you remember me look back
I'm John Doe.
Sometimes you gota let go.
V2
Another sunny day, I was in L.A.
waiting for a bus to take me away home.
Cause this aint my home.
The bus arrived so I hoped inside
so many faces and not one smile tell me why?.....
L.A. so cold.
I know, your dreams just fell apart
rise up…reach up off the ground.
Chorus
Bridge
I will find a way
to the place my heart will play
the tune that's in my mind and my soul.
And I don't care how long
take mare my heart belongs.
A place where I can call home.
Chorus
