MAISON......Real music by a real musician...Alternative, Rock, Pop songs about life experiences we can all relate to.
Story behind the song
99 YEARS DON'T LIE is a song I wrote following the start of the Iraq war. Absolutely disgusted with our world leaders and their motives. The billions of dollars wasted on pointless weapons. When we have children starving all over the world, homeless people, diseases that need money for research to find a cure. Every night I would turn on the TV, and on the news there would be an Iraqi women crying in the street, carrying the body of her dead child.... For What!
Filled with anger and sadness I had trouble sleeping, so I got up, went into my studio and started to write as an outlet of my emotions. The song might not make a difference in the world, but that slight chance it might makes it worth while putting out there.
Lyrics
99 YEARS DON'T LIE
V1
Just imagine 1 day you're in your home
just an ordinary day,
pretty much like today.
Now imagine a man knocks at your door
his from another land
with a gun in his hand saying.
Speak up, shut up,
sit down, stand up,
lie down, sit up, put your hands up
what's going on, something's gone wrong, now
I can tell you what I've done wrong, but
can you tell me what you've done wrong.
Chorus
Who's right ?, who's wrong ?,
I don't give a shit lets get along.
Everybody put your guns down
head back to your own town.
Fix the problems in your homes
lets give it a try.cause
99 years don't lie.
V2
Young boys in the sand
barely old enough to deal a hand, but
old enough to use a gun
eye's blinded by the sun.
100,000 men for 1 man
A billion dollars I don't understand when there's
children starving everywhere,
world leaders just don't care,
That's ok, that's alright
drop your bombs through the night
try and stay out of siteand
fight your fight.
cause when it's judgment day
what the hell u gonna say ?
I can't tell you what I've done wrong, but
can you tell me what you've done wrong.
Chorus
Bridge.
I'm tired of, turning on the TV and
seeing in front of me
a mother on her knees crying to God,
why'd you take my baby away from me ?
Cries of despair. there's,
hatred building everywhere, there's
nothing gained from war the earth is treated like a whore
open your eye's open your ears,
use your heart.
Chorus.
